Nowadays, griefing is viewed as a thing only the most sadistic players would ever engage in, but in Ultima it was a way of life. Instead, it was all about those little moments that would happen week to week that made the world of Britannia come alive. They might not be the most sprawling tales, but the strength of Ultima Online was never how 'epic' it could be. To celebrate its birthday and the legacy that would shape an entire genre of MMOs, here are just a few of my favorites. The skill that is displayed in your paperdoll is, by default, the highest skill that you have that is marked up (to raise the skill). The chart below outlines all of the professional titles associated with their skills and the NPC from whom initial training may be obtained. Training a skill costs approximately 10 GP per skill point, the NPC will name his price, drag and drop the gold onto him. Generally a ‘guild master/mistress’ will teach to a higher level. The number of skill points that you will receive from training a specific skill will vary from NPC to NPC. The initial 30 or so points in a skill can be gained by being trained by an NPC in order to train a skill, single left click on the npc to see a context menu listing what skills he will train, click on the skill in the list. Skill titles consist of two parts, the first indicates the level of competence, the second is the professional title.
